Die ausgewählte Passage zeigt einen Menschen, der vollere Rührung und Empathie kleinen Mäuschen beim Verzehr von Brotkrumen zusieht, dass dieser Mann in der selben Zeit an einem Text arbeitet, der Menschen trennt zwischen Wesen und Nichtwesen, der schon weiss, dass er Kinder und Frauen und Männer vernichten wird, um der „Reinheit“ des Volkes Willen, ist kaum vorstellbar, aber wahrhaftig.
Burkhard Schittney lässt den Text unkommentiert stehen und für sich selbst sprechen..
"Since I used to wake up early every morning before 5 o'clock, I had gotten into the game of putting a few pieces of hard bread scraps or crusts on the floor for the little mice that were entertaining themselves in the small room, and then watching the cute little animals chase each other around these few tidbits."
The conceptual, largely text-only image by Burkhard Schittny shows a quote from Hitler's 1924 prison-written "Mein Kampf" (My Struggle)
The selected passage shows a man full of emotion and empathy watching little mice eating bread crumbs. That this man is at the same time working on a text that separates people between beings and non-beings, that he already knows he will destroy children and women and men for the sake of the "purity" of the people, is hardly imaginable, but true.
Burkhard Schittney lets the text stand uncommented and speak for itself.
